Every time you search for a tool or appliance, you are hit with a wall of fake 5-star Amazon reviews, AI-generated blogs, and influencers paid to tell you a $300 vacuum is a “must-have.” We built HowIDone out of sheer frustration. We got tired of wasting our money on blenders that leak in week two and drills that strip their gears. Our mission is simple: to be the ultimate bullshit-detectors for homeowners and DIYers.

HowIDone is a decentralized collective of everyday weekend warriors, home cooks, and DIYers working from our own houses across different districts. We are data nerds and obsessive researchers who came together over a shared passion for finding gear that survives the chaos of real family life.
How We Track the Data (Our Reality-Check Protocol) We don’t pretend to personally buy and test 10,000 tools in a commercial workshop. Instead, our superpower is community-driven research.

- The Deep Dive: We spend up to 40 hours a week digging through niche Reddit homeowner threads to find long-term failure points, and we analyze independent YouTube repair channels to see what appliance motherboards are failing the fastest.
- The Metrics That Matter: We grade gear on two strict rules: The Family Chaos Rating (can it survive drops and daily abuse?) and The Repair Headache Index (tracking warranty denials and replacement costs).
